I own both the SYX Moto Electric Start Roost 125cc and the SYX Moto Kick Start Whip 125cc, and I’ve been enjoying them with my family. Each bike has its advantages and disadvantages. I do wish that the Roost had a kick start, but I love the convenience of not having to worry about shifting gears, especially for myself and my kids. The Roost’s height makes it a bit challenging for me to stand up at 5’9″.

On the other hand, the Whip has a seat height of 33 inches, which allows for comfortable standing. It feels great. I’ve also made upgrades to both bikes right out of the box, including a Nibbi Air Filter, ProTaper Pillow Grips, Nibbi Carburetor, and a new Rear Shock.

If you choose to go with the Nibbi Carburetor, I recommend purchasing a new Nibbi Manifold Air Joint Boot Connector. This connector is necessary for attaching the Nibbi Carburetor to the bike. I want to give you a heads up that in my experience, I had to cut my manifold to install the new Carburetor due to clearance issues with the screws. However, I only encountered this issue with the Roost because of its smaller frame. I didn’t have to cut my manifold on the Whip to install the new Nibbi Carb.

If you’re in search of an off-brand pit bike to get your family out of the house and enjoy riding, I highly recommend the SYX Moto Roost or the SYX Moto Whip. I haven’t encountered any issues with either bike so far, and it has been a fantastic experience teaching the kids about safety, having fun, and working on the pit bikes safely.
